 Nelson River


        The site is located on the eroded southeast point of Caribou Island on Gull Lake.
 Nelson River  It is a marshy area of the island and continues to erode. The site is characterized

        by a scatter of Pre-European contact lithic flakes, Laurel ceramics, and a historic

        English trade axe. The site was named mikiswi-néyáw for the large eagle nest
        above the site. Site visits occurred in 2012, 2013 and 2015.
