The site is located on a small peninsula of a granitic bedrock outcrop along
the north shore of the Nelson River. The site was noted by TCN to be a
possible burial site location and the birth place of William Beardy. While no
burial features were noted, an early to mid 20th century cabin foundation
was documented at the site. The site name was provided by local community B
members. The area, which originally was characterized by black spruce and
Gull Lake birch forests, was unfortunately affected by the 2013 forest fire. Historic and
Gull Lake
Nelson River Pre-European Contact artifacts were found at the site. Site visits occurred in
2001, 2003, 2004, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018. D
