The site is located along a poplar ridge 132 m northwest of HbKv-03 on
Kahpowinic Bay. The Kahpowinic Bay House is a fur trade era foundation
(6 x 6 m). It was initially located during investigations after the 2013 forest fire
that exposed the cabin foundation and chimney mound. In 2017, an excavation
of the cabin foundation was recovered resulting in over 4,400 artifacts being
located on top of the already recovered 290 artifacts from 2013. Overtime, the
site began to experience regrowth through low-lying plants and grasses. Site
visits occurred in 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
