Gull Lake Gull Lake
Nelson River
The site is located on an rocky point of land along the west shore of Gull Lake,
approximately 1.2 km west of Caribou Island. The site was recorded in 2012 A
Nelson River
and named Rocky Point (Asiniy-néyáw). The site was originally characterized
as a lithic workshop based on the recovery of Pre-European Contact lithic
flakes. In 2018, one Late Woodland ceramic sherd was recovered from the
shoreline. Site visits occurred in 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2018.
