The site is located on the north shore of Gull Lake, 0.9 km across the bay
from Morris Point and 1.3 km northeast from the northeast point of Isle “D.”
The site is named for an old overturned canoe found west of the site. TCN A
noted potential burials in the area, although no features were noted. The site
consists of a narrow strip of sandy beach in a small bay protected by a rocky
outcrop. Site visits occurred in 2004, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2018.
