Federal Regulatory Process


Subsequent to the submission of the Keeyask Generation Project Environmental Impact Statement, Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship invited comments from the public and Manitoba government departments. The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA) also coordinated comments from the federal review team. The Keeyask Hydropower Limited Partnership (KHLP) received these comments on September 26, 2012, and October 5, 2012. The Partnership responded to these requests on November 19, 2012.

Response to Requests for Additional Information from TAC & Public Reviewers, Round 1

Following the Partnership’s Round 1 Responses, Manitoba Conservation and the CEAA coordinated a review of these responses with provincial and federal government departments. The CEAA also invited the public to comment on the potential environmental effects of the Project and the proposed measures to prevent or mitigate those effects as described in the Environmental Effects Summary document. From these reviews, the CEAA provided the Partnership with subsequent Requests for Additional Information on December 28, 2012 and Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship provided additional requests on January 29 and 30, 2013. The Partnership responded to the majority of these requests on April 26, 2013  Remaining responses were filed July 12, 2013:
